Listen to songs from Volume 1
I'm a poet, not a singer, but I like to sing in my amateur way and I have liked, since childhood, to set my words to music. For a birthday present for my piano-playing granddaughter, I decided to make a little songbook for her. The result became what I now call "Volume 1" of Old Grandpa's Songbook: a collection of mostly silly (with a nod to William Blake) Songs of Innocence.
Other volumes have followed: collections of Love Songs, autobiographical Songs of my Life, and philosophical New Spirituals.
When I'm not singing in the guise of Old Grandpa, I'm writing poetry and novels under the name my mom and dad gave me, David G. Lanoue. If interested, here's more about that guy.
