本: hon. This category includes all manner of story-telling: books, fables, myths, movies, television shows, poems, plays, graphic novels, etc. Here's your chance to reach deep into culture—high brow and low brow—to add resonance to your collective poem. It's fun to be allusive, but there are limits. Those limits depend on your renku group. If only one poet understands an allusion, you all must decide: include it or not? With footnote or without? Some readers chafe at overly obscure references. These give the impression that one of the poets is calling attention to his or her erudition: not a good thing in renku, where everyone should be checking their egos at the door.
But this is all up to the poets. If you aren't sure about an allusion, just vote on it.
