Haiku Wars
Haiku Wars is told by a jelly-spined ferret named Oscar (see his pic). Reborn into the new millennium on a special mission authorized by the Universal Buddha, Oscar is sold to Poet: a likable but bumbling college professor and haiku translator. When he agrees to help host a haiku convention at which a precious manuscript is stolen, he is forced to play Sherlock Holmes—a role at which he would certainly fail, were it not for the helpful ministrations of his guardian ferret.
I self-published 100 copies of a first version of Haiku Wars in 2006. It sold quickly, and I was encouraged by readers' comments. Now, I'm revising it, after which I plan to look for a "real" publisher. If I find one, I'll post the information here.
