HSA National Meeting


On December 13-15, 2013, the New Orleans Haiku Society in conjunction with the Japan Society of New Orleans helped to host the national meeting of the Haiku Society of America.


Friday afternoon, Juliet points out landmarks on her Jazz History tour.


Later that evening, many of the participants showed up for dinner at Tivoli and Lee.



Next morning, the conference began in beautiful Latter Library on St. Charles Avenue.


Tom Painting led a haiku-writing workshop titled, "What's lurking?"



Nicholas Sola gave a presentation on "Haiku and Video Games."



Three of the local hosts at lunch in Kyoto Restaurant.


After lunch, Carolyn Graetz presented a slideshow on "Photoku from Brazil."


Haiku Elvis entered the building.


Later that evening, a party at David Lanoue's house. Who's that guy to the left, and why is he always out of the room when Elvis appears? Hmmm...

Next day, Sunday, after the haiku walk in Audubon Park and before Haiku Elvis's second act at the Maple Leaf bar, some participants enjoyed lunch at Mona's.
